New Year's Concert
Cultural house Karviná
The traditional New Year's Concert was held on 1st January 2019 in Karviná.
In the first half the orchestra performed Festival March by Antonín Dvořák, Polka and Finale from The Bartered Bride by Bedřich Smetana, Arabesque by Samuel R. Hazo, and premiered Symphonic Overture by James Barnes.
The second half was dedicated to our exceptional vocal soloists, Liana Sass (soprano) and Lukáš Bařák (baritone). The listeners could enjoy well- and not-so-well-known arias by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Bedřich Smetana, Richard Strauss, George Gershwin and Georges Bizet.
The orchestra was conducted by Ondřej Packan.
