Májovák celebrated its 115th anniversary
Municipal House of Culture Karviná
On Sunday, March 5, 2023, our orchestra celebrated its jubilee with a festive gala concert "Májovák 115". Works by James Barnes, Bert Appermont, Artur Márquez, Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana and Evžen Zámečník were performed on the stage of the Municipal House of Culture Karviná. The excellent trombonist Matúš Krpelan presented himself as a soloist. The entire concert was conducted by the conductor Filip Urban. The fully packed hall applauded the excellent performances of the entire orchestra. At the concert, the deputy mayor of Karviná, Mr. Andrzej Bizoń, also presented our orchestra with an award from the City Council of Karviná for many years of successful activity and representation of our city. A delegation of the orchestra from Logatec from Slovenia also visited us and presented gifts for the orchestra on stage. The entire concert was accompanied by moderator Anna Bangoura.
The concert was held with the support of the statutory town of Karviná, the OKD Foundation and the Landek Foundation.
